This year, MISfN will again provide a Founders Award for outstanding research to one graduate student as well as poster awards for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Poster presenters who would like more information on scoring rules and procedures should contact Martin Burg (burgm@gvsu.edu) for more details.
Founders Award Paper Competition
Master’s/Doctoral Students
Deadline: Friday April 20, 2012
This award is in honor of Montford F. Piercey and Duncan McCarthy for their contributions in organizing and maintaining our chapter. It is meant to showcase the research accomplishments of graduate student members of the chapter. The prize for the Founders Award is $500, and a plaque. The winner of the award will be required to present a 20 minute slide presentation during the annual chapter meeting. Entrants are required to submit both a regular abstract as first author and to also submit a comprehensive paper describing their research in greater detail. Papers are submitted directly to the Awards Chair, Martin Burg (burgm@gvsu.edu). by Friday April 20, 2012.

Poster Competition – Undergraduate Students
Deadline: Friday May 11, 2012
Two awards of $200.00 will be given. Entrants are required to submit a regular abstract as first author and indicate the entry for the poster award competition upon submission. Posters will be judged at the conference, during the poster session indicated in the program.

Two awards of $200.00 each are given. Entrants are required to submit a regular abstract as first author and indicate the entry for the poster award competition upon submission. Posters will be judged at the conference, during the poster session indicated in the program.
Poster Competition – Postdoctoral/Research Associate
Deadline: Friday May 11, 2012
One award of $200.00 will be given. Postdoctoral trainees, research associates, laboratory technicians and non-tenure track faculty members are eligible to compete. Entrants are required to submit a regular abstract as first author. Posters will be judged at the conference, during the poster session.
